His other ride is an EK Civic. I love these sorts of super long travel soft suspensions. You come to a stop and the front of the car dips down like it’s curtseying. He ran over some curbs at speed and it wasn’t felt in the slightest in the cabin. Super cool, even if the 300k mile 4.0 straight 6 was feeling the burn of a long life.

That looks really strange. Don’t see too many ZJ GCs lifted, probably because unibody rather than bod on frame.

XJs are unibody too.

Rather big ZJ. Has he rebuilt the engine or changed up the gearing in the transmission or diffs?

Huh, always thought the XJ was body on frame for some reason.

Nah, just a pretty well built unibody. Aww mine was so simple back then.

Any and all of that will help that 4.0 make it another 300,000.

A beater. When he got it it was lowered with cut ebay coilovers in rear and cut stock springs in front. He got some ebay GodspeedProject coilover sleeves and raised the car up to about 1 inch higher than stock, bought a catback exhaust for it (had no exhaust when he got it) and got some hood pins when a high-speed hood latch failure destroyed his roof and windshield (he kicked the roof back into shape, then ran over the hood a few times to bend it back into something resembling shape and kept on). Has a D16Y7, he’s currently trying to put a short shifter and new bushings on it.

the overhead console in my EK civic is from this generation of Jeep. So he and I share things in common :P
